<p>PURPOSE:To obtain luminescence of high light intensity simultaneously with the lighting of a headlamp and at the same time restrain the power consumption of a battery power source, by vaporizing luminiferous material within a luminiferous tube only in the case of lamp lighting. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle headlight 1 is equipped with a metal halide lamp 2 as a luminiferous source. And the metal halide lamp 2 vaporizes luminiferous material 10 within a luminiferous tube 7, and also emits a light of high light intensity by conducting electric discharge between the electrodes 8, 9. Also, a heating body 11 as a heating means extending from a socket portion 6, is provided on the lower side of the luminiferous tube 7. At this instance, an ignition sensor 13, a raindrop sensor 14 and a light quantity sensor 15 as deciding means, and a thermostat 16 are connected to a controller 12, which controls electrification to the heating body 11 by receiving output signals from respective apparatuses 13-16. And, when brightness on the outside of the vehicle becomes a lamp lighting condition, the heating means 11 is operated.</p> |
