PURPOSE:To reduces the cost, and prevent the appearance from deteriorating and at the same time, eliminate administration and work such as storage, transport and connection of panel for operation test by adding a reading special- purpose memory for operation test in a printer main body. CONSTITUTION:At the time of operation test for a printer main body 1, by a command from an operator control panel 12A or by pressing an operation test setting switch on an interface card 11, a change-over circuit 17 selects a test circuit 16 to change a control unit 13 to a mode for operation test. For this reason, the control unit 13 makes signals from an outside controller invalid. Then, a switch on the operator control panel 12A is pressed, the switch input code is decoded for operation test at the interface card 11, and data for a print pattern is output at the control unit 13 based on the decoded switch input, and sent to a printer mechanism 14, and printing operation corresponding with the print pattern is performed at the printer mechanism 14. |
