PURPOSE:To control advancing direction easily by individually driving right and left sprockets, through separately excited DC machines, with a DC power obtained by converting the output of an AC generator which is driven through an engine and feeding excessive power, produced from the DC machine, to a regenerative resistor. CONSTITUTION:Output from an AC generator 2, driven through a prime mover 1 such as an engine or a turbine, is subjected to power conversion 3 to produce DC power. DC power is then fed, individually, to field current controllers 12, 13 for two separately excited DC motors 8, 9 which convert the DC power into driving force for right and left sprockets in order to control the current to be fed to the field coils 6, 7 of a separately excited DC motor 89 independently thus controlling the speed of the DC motor individually. When the system enters into a brake mode, a circuit breaker 14 is opened while circuit breakers 15, 16 are thrown in simultaneously or individually in order to feed the excessive power, generated in the armature coils 4, 5 in the DC machine, to regenerative resistors 10, 11 thus converting the excessive power into heat. |
