The present invention relates to a food preparation for dogs or cats of the type which is ready to use, based on meats, vegetables, cereals and sauces. The preparation is packaged in a thermoformed tray and is preserved by means of deep-freezing which eliminates the need to add a preservative. A distinctive feature of the preparation is its traditional appearance; it contains no colourings and all its ingredients are visible and individually recognisable. This top of the range product is particularly aimed at a class of customer wishing to offer their pet a complete, well-balanced meal which can be quickly prepared and is very close to a family type portion.
