PURPOSE:To obtain a double recording medium, such as a prepaied card, on which a character or other image can be recorded by either a thermal recording method or an electric discharge recording method by a method wherein a protective layer contains a heat-resistant resin having a specific glass transition point and a lubricant. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium 10 consists of a substrate 11 made of a material having a high mechanical toughness and a flexibility, a coloring layer 12 successively formed on the top surface of the substrate 11, a metallized layer 13, and a protective layer 14. The protective layer 14 protects the metallized layer 13 physically and chemically and contains a heat-resistant resin having a glass transition point higher than 30 deg.C and a lubricant for preventing sticking and scum adhesion at the time of thermal recording and allowing an easy discharge at the time of electric discharge recording. |
