PURPOSE:To suppress the fluctuation of a signal amplitude and to reduce the generation of jitter to enable a waveform shaping processing by shaping waveforms after an AGC processing when the waveforms of a differential signal to obtain a reproducing signal and a gate signal are shaped. CONSTITUTION:To an optical recording medium 1 reading pulses, the waveforms of the gate signal amplifying a fine signal obtained from an optical head 3, and of the differential signal for detecting the forming position of a bit, are shaped respectively and in a reproducing system to obtain the reproducing signal through a gate circuit 10, after AGC processing through AGC circuits 6 and 21 provided commonly or respectively, for the gate signal and the derivative signal, the waveforms of these signals are shaped by waveform shaping circuits 8 and 9. Thus, the generation of the jitter in the waveform-shaped signals in the zero cross part of both signals can be reduced to obtain the data reproducing signal with high reliability. |
