PURPOSE: To enable stable operating by keeping the resonant state of a non- linear Fabry-Perot interferometer in the hysteresis relationship of 'optic/optic' characteristics of the interferometer. CONSTITUTION: Two elements p<+> -ν-n<+> , for which the n<+> area of one element and the p<+> area of the other element are defined as transparent electrodes, are connected to two power sourcesε1 andε2 while inverting polarities and an intermediate point electrically connecting a p<+> area 7 of one element and an n<+> area 6 of the other element is connected through a resistor R to the power sourcesε1 andε2 . Therefore, when electric field intensity is changed by changing an impressed voltage by the hysteresis 'optic/optic' characteristics, an influence to be exerted upon the resonant tuning property of the Fabry-Perot interferometer can be reduced. Thus, an optical channel is switched in a flip-flop mode, the optical control of an optical pulse at one independent channel is enabled, and operating speed can be accelerated.
