PURPOSE:To execute reliably a processing of drawing a map relating to the current position of a moving body, by determining a distance from the current position for each of a plurality of districts being adjacent to the district containing the position of the moving body and by reading data on the districts in a memory sequentially, beginning with the district of a small distance away. CONSTITUTION:A position signal obtained from a position detecting device 2 is read by a map reading device 4. A district F containing a point (a) being the position of a moving body is detected, and it is registered as the central district in a No. 1 rank of a request list. Next, districts A, B, C, E, G, I, J and K being adjacent to the central district F are listed and then the shortest distance from the point (a) to each of the adjacent districts is computed. Then the adjacent districts are rearranged as J, G, K, E, I, B, C and A in the sequence of the distances, beginning with the closest one, and the rearranged districts are registered in No. 2 to No. 9 ranks of the request list. |
