<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a stabilized solution of an isothiazolone compound having improved stability, advantageous for storage, transportation, etc., and useful as a bactericide and mildew-proofing agent by dissolving an isothiazolone compound in ethylene glycol diacetate. CONSTITUTION:An isothiazolone compound (e.g. 2-methyl-3-isothiazolone) is dissolved in ethylene glycol diacetate (EGDA) or an organic solvent (e.g. ethylene glycol) composed mainly of EGDA. When a mixture of EGDA and other organic solvent is used in the present process, the amount of EGDA in the mixed solvent is >=50wt.%. The stabilized solution may be incorporated with other bactericide and mildew-proofing agent. The stabilizing effect is especially remarkable to a non-complex compound among the isothiazolone compounds.</p> |
