PURPOSE:To enable a vehicle position to be detected accurately by performing data communication between a road side transmitter and a receiver mounted in the vehicle and allowing the vehicle position to be detected according to fluctuation of carrier frequency due to Doppler effect. CONSTITUTION:Data is superposed from a transmission means 24 of a road side transmitter and a radio wave including a plurality of phase constituents is transmitted to a vehicle. Then, this radio wave is subject to phasing such as a carrier frequency fluctuation etc. due to Doppler effect which is generated along with driving of the vehicle. A receiving means of a receiver which is mounted to the vehicle receives this radio wave and one phase constituent related to reception eliminates deviation of the carrier frequency from other phase constituents. A data regeneration means 44 regenerates data from an output of the reception means 26. On the other hand, arrival of the vehicle at a specified position can be detected based on fluctuation of the carrier frequency related to reception by a position detection means 74. |
