PURPOSE:To obtain a light-weighted water-cut-off tape by sticking a metal to one side of a plastic film by means of vapor deposition or sputtering in order to form a metal layer on one side of this film. CONSTITUTION:A metal is vapor-deposited or sputtered on the reverse of a plastic film 13 in order to form a metal layer 15 on one side of this plastic film 13. For instance, vapor deposition is so performed that a metal is heated and vaporized in a vacuum, and the vapor is coagulated on one side of the plastic film 13 as a thin film. By vapor deposition or sputtering, the metal layer 15 having such a thin thickness as 0.05 to 5mum and extremely few pinholes can be formed. As the metals, either one of lead, aluminum and copper is used, further as the plastic film 13, for instance, a polyethylene terephthalate film or the like is used, and that having a thickness about 15 to 200mum is desirable. |
