<p>PURPOSE:To switch a full bit map method and a strip map method in accordance with the sequentially-designated printing image size by using the full bit map method as the printing mode when the whole of the image can be stored in a bit map memory, while using the strip map method as the printing mode when the whole image cannot be stored in the bit map memory. CONSTITUTION:The printing data sent from a data processor 1 is developed as the actual printing image on a video memory 32 of a bit map processor 3 and output to a print engine 4. when the full bit map method is employed, the whole area of the video memory 32 can be used as a bit map area. However, in the strip map method, the whole area of the video memory 32 is divided into a packet buffer 307 and a band buffer 308. A full bit map request flag is turned ON/OFF by a switching key of an operating panel which switches the full bit map/strip map method.</p> |
