The fire-resistant mass is applied in the production of metallic conductors for metallic melts, stopper, shutters and other pieces used in metallurgy and metal casting. The goods prepared by it, are with high mechanical strength, thermal and chemical resistance at high temperatures in contact with metallic melts and has high exploitational parameters. The fire-resistant mass is on the basis of corrund, graphite, technical Al2O3, clay and kaolin, by containing additionally in weight part.: water solution of aluminum sulphate from 1 to 15, sulphite-alcohol lye from 1 to 15, celsian and/or silicon nitride from 1 to 30, while the remaining components are: corrund or technical Al2O3, or a combination from them from 20 to 90, kaolin or clay, or a combination of those from 5 to 25 or graphite from 5 to 25. The proportion of clay to kaolin, respectively of corrund to the technical Al2O3 is 1:1.
