The mechanism wraps a support for a transfer round a hollow metal body with suitably-coated surface. The pattern on the support is transferred by heat and pressure onto the body. The body is supported on a mandrel (19) with a positioning holder (23), which is accommodated midway between supporting strips (22). A wrapping blade (34) moves halfway round the mandrel periphery between the holder and each strip. Opposite the holder is a holding finger (24) engaging with the mandrel. ADVANTAGE - Full printing of can etc. with sharp image.
