Process for treating fine particles originating from electrofilters of power plants fed with mineral oil, by virtue of which it is possible to discharge aqueous effluents which have inclusive heavy metal concentration values liable to be well below the values stipulated by the regulations, which process additionally permits the virtually complete recovery of the carbon and of the heavy metals contained in the ash.
