An LED(Light Emitting Diode) block assembly, a backlight assembly using the LED block assembly, and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) are provided to connect LED blocks of an LED block assembly using a magnetic member to reduce the manufacturing cost and prevent particles from being introduced into a backlight unit when the backlight unit is assembled. An LED block assembly includes an LED block(300) and a connecting pad. The LED block includes a substrate(100), LEDs(160) mounted on the substrate, and a connector(150) formed at the sides of the substrate. The connecting pad connects neighboring connectors of LED blocks using a magnetic force when multiple LED blocks are connected. The connector includes a metal pad or a magnetic member. The connecting pad includes a magnetic member.
