The transmission has a hollow shaft (7) with a drive trains (8-13) running freely on at each end. The train is selectively driven by control shafts (14) that slide inside the hollow shaft and carry pinions (16) which engage either the internal ring gear (21) in the drive train or the . shaft (24). Position of the control shafts is set by a slide (23), running outside the hollow shaft and having pins passing through slots in its wall to displace the control shaft.
