In a disposal process, the waters resulting from purification units are delivered to feed tanks 1 in which they are heated by sets of heat exchangers 3 and are caused to circulate in evaporation units 18. Part of the evaporated water and the residual unevaporated concentrate is returned to the tanks with continuous make- up to the optimum level with other resulting water. The residue which is strongly concentrated to the point that products in suspension crystallise out undergoes an appreciable reduction in volume while most of the water is disposed of by evaporation.
