PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of a deposit of ash and improve thermal efficiencies by disposing in a group of heat transfer tubes laid out on square patterns in a direction normal to that of the flow of gas carrying powder members for adjustment of the flow of gas having a wideness smaller than the pitch of said tubes and making the pitch of the adjacent members normal to the direction of the gas flow different from that of the tubes. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of baffle rods 2 are suspended on a line A-A in a group of heat transfer tubes 1 laid out on square patterns at a pitch twice the pitch of said tubes to dispose the rods intermediate the tubes, while the rods 2 are disposed on a line B-B on a level located lower than that of the rods 2 on the line A-A by a distance corresponding to the pitch of the tubes 1. The gas flowing downwardly, as illustrated by a broken line 7, dislodges the coal ashes deposited on the upper and under surfaces of the tubes 1. Since the gas flows over the upper and under surfaces of the tubes, stagnant gas is not produced between the tubes disposed in the direction of the gas flow and hence deposit of ash is reduced, improving thermal efficiencies. Further, since no tube 1 is located in the flow of gas which is accelerated while the gas flows between the tubes, erosion of tubes caused by powder can be reduced.
|
