PURPOSE:To prevent the execution of useless agitation and to reduce worker's load by storing toner locking information in a developing device detected by a toner sensor, controlling toner agitation based upon the ON of a power supply or the information and clearing the lacking information at the time of replenishing toner. CONSTITUTION:The toner concentration of the developing device in an image forming device is detected by the toner sensor 12c, toner lacking information is stored in a RAM 22 and toner lacking or the like is displayed on an operation display part 24. The stop or the like of image formation is controlled by a CPU 20, and at the time of stopping it, the contents of the RAM 22 are written in an EEPROM 23. When the power supply is turned on, the CPU 20 decides a real toner lacking state based upon the contents of the ROM 23, and at the time of checking toner replenishment through a new bottle detecting sensor 9' or the like, the toner agitation is executed by an agitating device of the image forming device through the CPU 20, so that the execution of useless agitation can be prevented and agitation control through a worker can be made unnecessary, reducing worker's load. By the way, the lacking information stored in the RAM 23 or the like is cleared at the time of replenishing toner. |
