PURPOSE:To improve an operation speed by executing the correlation processing of an echo by using a reference signal based upon the 1st sequence and executing the succeeding correlation processing by using a reference signal based upon the 2nd sequence. CONSTITUTION:A reference unit signal is generated by using the 1st sequence generated from an amplitude coding transmission signal generator 1A. Then, the 2nd sequence is generated from the generator 1A and a transmission obtained from a reference unit signal based upon the 2nd sequence is transmitted to an ultrasonic probe 6. The probe 6 is driven by the transmission signal, transmits an ultrasonic wave to a subject S and receives an echo from the subject S. The reference signal from the generator 1A and the echo are transmitted to the 1st correlator 11 to execute correlation processing. The output of the correlator 11 is transmitted to the 2nd correlator 12, which executes correlation processing between the 2nd reference signal generated from the generator 1A and the output of the 1st correlator 11 and displays its output to a display device 8. Thus, the operation speed can be improved. |
