PURPOSE:To achieve a superconducting coil with high rigidity and cooling efficiency and in which quenching rarely occurs by coating the superconducting wire surface with silane or other coupling agents. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting coil 1 consists of a superconducting wire 2 which is composed of an NbTi superconductive filament and stabilized copper and is polyvinyl formal insulated, is wound into a race-track shape, and impregnated with epoxy resin. Without placing glass cloth in coil layer spaces 3, the surface of the superconducting wire 2 is coated with an aminosilane coupling agent 4, improving the wettability with the epoxy resin and strengthening the adhesiveness between the superconducting wire 2 and an impregnated resin 5. As a result, since the thicknesses of the resin in the coil layer spaces 3 and in a coil stage spaces 6 can be reduced, the coil rigidity and the coil cooling efficiency are high. This makes it possible to raise the coil electric current density without causing the quench phenomena. |
