<p>PURPOSE:To attain the communication between packet terminal equipments with different host protocols based on a packet level by connecting and subscribing a protocol converter to a packet exchange network and inserting a protocol conversion adaptor to a subscriber line. CONSTITUTION:When a packet terminal equipment 6a sends a CR packet 50 including a subscriber number of a packet terminal equipment 6b to connect itself to the packet terminal equipment 6b, a protocol conversion adaptor 40a inserted between subscriber lines L32aa and L32ab sends a CR packet 51 including a subscriber number of a protocol converter 30 preset in its inside. A channel is set between a packet controller 42 in the protocol conversion adaptor 40a and a protocol conversion means 32 in the protocol converter 30 and when a protocol conversion necessity discrimination means 101 discriminates the necessity of protocol conversion, a protocol conversion means 102 is activated to execute the protocol conversion between the packet terminal equipments 6a,6b.</p> |
