A method for preparing an alcohol from starch, and an apparatus for preparing an alcohol from starch are provided to minimize the amount of the consumed starch and to maximize the productivity of diastatic enzyme. A method for preparing an alcohol from starch comprises the steps of culturing the fungi mycelium producing the diastatic enzyme to produce the diastatic enzyme; converting starch into glucose by using the diastatic enzyme; and culturing an alcohol fermentation enzyme in the culture medium containing the converted glucose so as to produce an alcohol.
