A soft magnetic material i.e. spinel-type ferrite is prepared by the coprecipitation method. The spinel type ferrite consists of precipitates with dust in the steelmaking electric furnace which is fired at 500-800 deg.C, added acid leaching solution, removed combustible carbohydrates and metallic hydroxide is coprecipitated together with an alkali solution for neutralization, with some content of metallic salts. And precipitates is separated by magnetic force into magnetic material and nonmagnetic impurities.
