PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent stereoscopic picture by providing N-sets of polarized filters whose polarized axis is selected by a switching signal and a means switching the polarized axis of each filter corresponding to a scanning line position to a projecting screen onto which a right and a left eye picture are projected for each prescribed period. CONSTITUTION:A video signal output section 11 gives a right and a left eye picture signal to a projection type CRT 12 for each field, polarization filters 13a-13e are provided to the CRT 12 in lateral direction and a projection lens 14 is provided in front of them to project a picture onto a projection screen 15. A delayed switching signal with a different phase is given to each polarized filter from a switching signal generating circuit 16 and the uppermost horizontal scanning is scanned. In this case, a leading time Ta of the filter 13a is expected and a switching signal to switch a left eye polarized light is given before the time Ta and the signal is displayed in matching with the phase of a left eye video signal. Other filters 13b, 13c are processed similarly. Thus, a polarized eyeglass having prescribed left and right polarized planes is used and a picture with an excellent stereoscopic sense is obtained without crosstalk over the entire screen while decreasing the effect of the leading time and after-image of a fluorescent substance. |
