PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by providing a serial connection consisting of a fluorescent lamp and plural condensers on the secondary side of a transformer and selectively shorting both ends of condensers. CONSTITUTION:When a switch SW is switched on, transistors Q3, Q4 and Q5 and diodes D1, D2, D3, and D4 are all in the 'on' state. Both ends of condensers CS2 are shortened, and a voltage subjected to impedance division of an output voltage on the secondary side transformer T by means of a condenser CS1 and a fluorescent lamp LA is applied to the fluorescent lamp LA, and the LA becomes available in the day and outside a room. Then, when the switch SW is switched off, transistors Q3, Q4, and Q5 and diodes D1, D2, D4, and D5 are all in the 'off' state, a voltage subjected to impedance division of an output voltage on the secondary side of transformer T by means of condensers CS1, CS2 and the fluorescent lamp LA is applied to the fluorescent lamp LA. The light luminance is decreased to a usable level only inside the room, and power consumption is also reduced. The operation time by using a battery can be extended. |
