The invention relates to an aqueous acidic coating solution. This solution comprises water, nitric acid, ammonium zirconium fluoride and an anionic polyacrylamide-acrylic polymer copolymer. Application: process for coating the surface of a non-ferrous metal with the said solution, for increased adherence of paints and increased corrosion resistance.
