PURPOSE:To improve heat resistance, oxidation resistance and high-temp. strength by coating the surface of a molding, which is obtd. by molding of a powder mixture composed of a ceramics base material and ceramics reinforcing materials, with glass after the surface coating layer is formed of the ceramics base material and is subjected to a heat treatment, then sintering the molding by a high-temp. hydrostatic pressure press. CONSTITUTION:The molding obtd. by molding the powder mixture composed of the ceramics base material consisting of oxide ceramics, such as alumina and mullite, and nonoxide ceramics, such as Si3N4 and sialon, and at least one kind of the ceramics reinforcing material selected from SiC planar particles and SiC whiskers is coated with the ceramics base material powder to form the surface coating layer and is heat treated at 1750 to 1900 deg.C under 9.5atm in a nitriding atmosphere. This molding is then coated with the glass and is sintered by the high-temp. hydrostatic pressure press. |
