PURPOSE:To prevent the flickering during a scanning discharge under the dark environment by providing a fluorescent material which generates the photoelectric effect corresponding to the work function of an emitter material and has the luminous wavelength shorter than the limit wavelength, and sealing the discharge gas radiating ultraviolet rays in a discharge cell. CONSTITUTION:Low-melting point glass paste mixed with a fluorescent material into a borosilicate lead glass material is printed on a cathode conductor 2 and baked to form a barrier 3 with the thickness of about 20-100mum. Phosphors with the luminous wavelength 459nm or below are used for the fluorescent material to be mixed in the barrier 3. The discharge gas mainly constituted of rate gas containing ultraviolet emitting gas to excite the fluorescent material is sealed in a discharge cell S. |
