Device with which it is possible to form knots of steel wire used for making a broom fence. It makes it possible to connect a fagot on a main steel wire (8) with the aid of a secondary steel wire (9). The main wire passes through the inside of a finger (2) guided in rotation in a spindle (1). After loading the fagot, this assembly is positioned facing a secondary coil (10). During its rotation, the finger drives the support (4) of the secondary coil on a circular rail (5), causing the latter to describe a complete turn about the main wire in order to form the loop. The main wire and the fagot blocked by virtue of the loop are then translated. The spindle and the finger are disengaged in such a way as to permit the positioning of a new fagot and to start the operation again, thus creating a chain forming the fence. <IMAGE>
