PURPOSE:To enhance ink receptivity at the time of recording, to obtain a recording image having a sharp contour and to improve the preservability of the recording image by adding a zirconium salt to an ink receiving layer during the formation and coating thereof. CONSTITUTION:When a zirconium salt is added to an ink receiving layer forming coating solution containing at least one kind of porous pigment, the dispersion stability of the porous pigment is markedly improved and sufficient adhesive strength is obtained even by the use of a relatively small amount of a binder. Porous basic pigment is pref. used because of its excellent adsorbing capacity of water-soluble piment having an anionic group represented by an acid dye and a direct dye. As the zirconium salt, for example, (NH4)2ZrO(CO3)2, ZrOCl2.8H2O, ZrO(OH)Cl.nH2O, ZrOSO4.nH2O, ZrO(NO3)2.nH2O, ZrOCO3.nH2O, ZrO(OH)2.nH2O and ZrO(C2H3O2)2 are designated and the use amount thereof is generally adjusted to the range of about 1-50% by wt. of the porous pigment. |
