A semiconductor crystal (2) constitutes a light amplifier in an optical cavity formed between, on the one hand, the front face of this crystal, which is semitransparent, and couples this crystal to an optical fibre (36) and, on the other hand, a diffraction grating (14) carried by a plate (64) which is bent, by a piezoelectric transducer (66), within the limits of a control range which can be moved using a screw (68). This plate is itself carried by an orientable body (54). According to the invention, the cavity is short and carried by a base (sole) plate (20) at stabilised temperature. The invention applies in particular to fibre-optic telecommunications systems. <IMAGE>
