摘要 PURPOSE:To produce the composite material consisting of diamond having the crystal grain size of a specific value or below and metal even under a low pressure by synthesizing the diamond by a plasma jet method on a substrate and simultaneously spraying the metal by a plasma thermal spraying method. CONSTITUTION:This composite material is the material which is constituted of the diamond and the metal and has <=10mu crystal grain size of the diamond. The effect of dispersion strengthening is hardly expected if this grain size is too large. The inside of a vacuum chamber 1 internally equipped with a plasma jet gun 2 and a plasma thermal spraying gun 3 is regulated to a prescribed vacuum state in order to produce the above-mentioned material. While gaseous raw materials are supplied by supply pipes 2a to 2c to the gun 2, a Dc electric power is impressed thereto to generate an arc discharge and to inject the gase ous raw materials in the form of jet flow to a substrate 4. The gaseous raw materials and the metal are simultaneously supplied by supply pipes 3a and 3b, 3c to the gun 3 and the metal is similarly sprayed to the substrate 4.
