A process for the storage, transport and laying of hoses, above all fire-fighting hoses, and a hose case 1, specially designed for this purpose, for accommodating a hose reel consisting of two coupled-together hoses, which hoses are reeled up in such a way that the coupling elements are placed centrally in the hose reel, the hose case having a configuration matched to the hose reel and a slideway 13 fitted in its bottom for reducing the friction when the hose reel rotates within the case as the hose is pulled out. The hose case 1 further has a detachable handle 11, an opening 5 for insertion of the hose reel and an oblique opening 12 for feed-out of the hoses. In addition, holders 14,15 are fitted for the mooring of a jet nozzle mounted on the one hose in the hose reel. The process is characterized in that the free ends of the coupled-together and double-reeled hoses, when the hose case is packed, stick out through the feed-out opening 12, whereupon, when the hoses are unreeled, the free end of the outermost hose in the respective turn of the hose reel is coupled to a pump, fire hydrant or the like, whilst the free end of the innermost hose in the respective turn of the hose reel, possibly inclusive of a coupled-on jet nozzle, is moored to one of the holders 14,15 of the hose case. When the hose case is guided in the pull-out direction, both the hoses are fed out simultaneously as the hose reel rotates and, when the hose case has been emptied of hose, the outermost hose has been extended in an essentially straight hose length whilst at the same time the innermost hose has automatically formed a manoeuvring loop. <IMAGE> |
