PURPOSE:To prevent the clogging of pipings by constituting the title apparatus of a sterilizing process, a suspended matter removing process, an organochlorine compound decomposing process and a residual oxidizing agent treatment process. CONSTITUTION:Bacteria propagating in the presence of various org. matters contained in contaminated underground water are killed by an oxidizing agent such as hydrogen peroxide. Since hydrogen peroxide is easy to handle and easily decomposed into water and oxygen by ultraviolet rays, a reducing agent or activated carbon even if it remains in water, hydrogen peroxide is effective because it generates no contamination. Subsequently, the suspended matter in water is removed by a filter or a flocculating sedimentation method and the residual oxidizing agent is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to subject an organochlorine compound to oxidative decomposition. In this oxidative decomposition reaction, the residual oxidizing agent is irradiated with ultraviolet rays at first to generate active oxygen and the organochlorine compound is subjected to oxidative decomposition by said active oxygen. By this method, the clogging of pipings caused by the generation of bacteria can be prevented. |
