<p>PURPOSE:To produce the filter material having a good filtering performance featuring an excellent adsorption action by a method wherein org. matter containing animal bones, a bonding assistant and alumina are mixed together, granulated and baked. CONSTITUTION:The bones of animal such as cattle and horse are boiled in an autoclave to remove org. matter therefrom until its content is reduced to 2-25% and they are dried and pulverized. Such powdered animal bones, a bonding assistant (e.g. clay) and alumina are mixed with water, kneaded, granulated and baked, In this process, the org. matter is removed almost completely from the resulting product and small bubbles are formed inside a granular filter material. This filter material is formed usually in such proportions as to contain therein 14-42 pts.wt. animal bones and 7-21 pts.wt. alumina per 100 pts.wt. assistant. As a result, the filter material having a good filtering performance featuring an excellent adsorption action can be produced.</p> |
