摘要 PURPOSE:To enable laser oscillation even when the conditions of the installation of the title device are relaxed and the device is positioned freely even in the vertical direction or lateral direction or oblique direction by forming electrodes mounted at both end sections of a radiating pipe in porous structure and containing copper as a metal vapor source in the inside. CONSTITUTION:An anode 3 and a cathode 4 composed of a metallic material having the melting point higher than copper as a laser medium are set up at both end sections of a furnace core tube (a discharge tube) 2 in a laser oscillator. These electrodes 3, 4 consist of porous structure such as sponge and pumice, and copper as a metal vapor source at the laser medium is contained in the porous structure. When high voltage is applied instantaneously between the electrodes 3, 4 in the oscillation process of laser beams, the electrodes 3, 4 are heated, metal coper on the inside is also heated by the heat and liquefied while copper vapor is generated, and the inside of a discharge space is supplied with copper vapor, thus allowing laser oscillation. Accordingly, since metal vapor is fed directly from the insides of the electrodes, the title device can be disposed freely even in the vertical direction or lateral direction or oblique direction, thus improving the degree of freedom of arrangement, then enhancing the degree of allowance of the design of a plant.
