PURPOSE:To have a discharge lamp starting device of simple and compact structure by providing a voltage boosting part which boosts pulses generated by a trigger part to high voltage pulses, and connecting No.1 charging/discharge part in parallel with No.2 charging/discharging part which contains inductive components different from the No.1 charging/discharging part. CONSTITUTION:A charging/discharging part 2 and trigger part 4 for generating pulses are connected with a power supply 1 to constitute a closed circuit, and a voltage booster part 5 is provided to boost pulses generated by the trigger part 4 to high voltage pulses, and further the charging/discharging part 2 is connected in parallel with another charging/discharging part 3 which contains inductive components different from the part 2. This allows obtainment of pulsed waveform as synthetization of a pulse having a high peak value and with small width and a pulse having a low peak value and with large width. This achieves a small-sized starter device while reliance upon its operation and the safety are well maintained or enhanced. |
