<p>A data logger and method are disclosed for determining electrical characteristics of insulating materials, and in particular hysteresis characteristics of a magnetic material. The signals from ramp direction timer (2) and start ramp direction circuit (3), under the control of circuits (7), are used by the signal summing circuits (4) to drive an analogue integrator (5). A high voltage power supply (6) in response to analogue integrator output provides a variable time dependent voltage to a sample through a probe means (8a). Integrator means (8b) is adapted to provide an integrated signal resembling the integral of the current through the sample due to the applied voltage. The applied voltage and the integral signal are connected to a display means to display at least one electrical characteristic of the sample.</p> |
