The transversely adjustable linear guide unit contains a rail (1) of defined length, a slider unit 2 and a number of roller bearing elements (3). The slider unit has a first sub-unit (6) supported by the bearings to be movable on the rail. A second sub-unit (7) is mounted movably w.r.t. the first perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the rail on a low friction bearing. USE/ADVANTAGE - For drive units of different types of machine tools, precision machining equipment and test devices. It is suitable for high loadings and can be made by small modifications to existing units.
