Sliding vane closure with gas seals

The sliding vane air lock forms a closure, through which the loose material flows into a transport system. The air lock has a housing (1) with an inlet funnel and a rotor with sliding vanes (9) enclosed in the housing. A seal (17) is fitted between each end of the rotor and the corresponding inner face of the housing end wall. The seal is mounted on a bearing (16) on the rotor shaft (5) so that it can rotate relative to the rotor.
