In a drive unit for mower blades (cutter-bars) the drive pin (7, 9; 7a) can be turned about an axis through it and the swing arm (4, 5; 4a). The axis runs at right-angles to the longituginal axis of the drive pin (7, 9; 7a) and parallel to a plane in which the mower-blade (2, 3) can reciprocate. The drive pin (7, 9; 7a) can turn itself into an angular position in which it has essentially momentary freedom relative to the axis.
