<p>A vehicle sunroof comprises a frame (2) for mounting on a vehicle roof, a slidable panel (1) being supported in the frame (2) between a pair of elongate side support members (3). Releasable engagement means are provided on the panel (1) for engaging one or both side support members (3) at substantially any desired position along the length of the each side support member (3) adjacent the frame aperture, thus preventing sliding of the panel (1) when the engagement means is in its rest position. In a preferred embodiment, a handle (5) is drivingly connected to a pinion (6) which is drivingly connected to a pair of racks (8). On the outer end of each rack (8) is mounted a friction block (10) which engages a respective side support member (3).</p> |
