<p>A papermaking additive comprising: (A) a cationic acrylamide polymer prepared by the reaction of an acrylamide polymer with a hypohalite under an alkaline condition in a temperature range of 50 to 110 °C for a short time, and (B) either an anionic inorganic substance or a cationic polyacrylamide prepared by the copolymerization of a cationic monomer such as an acrylic ester or acrylamide derivative, an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or its salt, and acrylamide.</p> |
