The implement comprises a horizontal, power-driven shaft, on which aeration blades are mounted at intervals in the axial direction. Each blade has a leading edge ending at a cutting one with a cutter tip, and a trailing edge. The latter merges into the tip via a chamfered portion. In the direction of rotation, the cutting edge (34) is inclined rearwards w.r.t. the leading edge (30). The angle between the cutting edge and a tangent of a circle (46), centred on the axis of rotation, can be 90 deg. or less, with the tip (38) vertically below the axis. The discharge angle between the cutting edge and the ground can be 90 deg. or more, while the angle to the blade centre line (22) can be approx. 15 deg. Its angle to the radius through the tip can be approx. 3 deg.
