A heart valve prosthesis has a fixed aorta flap taken from an animal. This aorta flap is covered with a woven fabric and attached to an elastically flexible frame of circular cross-section with a wave form circumferential contour. The frame has three rounded posts forming the peaks of the wave form and a number of openings. Inside the frame, the aorta flap is formed into three pockets (15-17) which are held clear of the annulus fibrosus (18). The aorta lumen projects into the pockets without being joined to the muscle tissue of the ventricle septum.
