The furnace, burns solid fuel which has a high ash content, and operates on the fluidised bed principle. The furnace has a combustion chamber and an ash cooler (1) which also operates on the fluidised bed principle and is situated under the floor (2) of the combustion chamber (7) and is connected to the combustion chamber through a small opening (3). The combustion chamber floor (2) slopes downwards in the direction of the opening (3) and is provided with nozzles for the fluidising gas. The combustion chamber floor is inclined at an angle between 45 and 20 deg to the horizontal. USE - Furnaces using solid fuel with a high ash content.
