A process to automatically thread the free end of a full roving bobbin into the drafting rollers of a spinning frame. As the end is drawn off the existing roving bobbin through the drafting rollers, the drive mechanism is drawn down to attach to the top roller and by means of transmission the roller pair is engaged to the free end of the full roving bobbin which has been set in position. The new end is guided by a channel which has a side threading slot, into the nip of the roller pair. To assist in this, the two rovings are joined in a device which has two threading slots angled to a common centre. This device may be rotated when the first roving is broken off, or has been completely drawn through, leaving only the end from the new bobbin. In this manner the device reverses to a position in preparation for another new end to be inserted in due course. USE/ADVANTAGE - As ring spinning frame.
