<p>PURPOSE:To suppress occurrence of a cell as required and to avoid cell abort by controlling a sound presence rate of a voice detection function in a coder (CODEC) to an overflow of the cell so as to vary number of cells outputted from a terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:Each terminal equipment encodes a voice signal according to the sound presence rate set initially and sends the voice signal processed into a cell to a multiplexer 30. The multiplexer uses a multiplex section 32 so as to multiplex cells from each terminal equipment and sends the cell to an ATM transmission line. A monitor section 34 of the multiplexer 30 always monitors a buffer and informs the assignment by overflow to a terminal control section 16 making overall control in the terminal equipment via an interface 18 of the terminal equipment when an overflow is detected. According to the notice from the multiplexer, the terminal equipment control section commands a change of the sound presence rate to a voice detection section 12.</p> |
